Minutes of the September 13, 2010 Monthly KPARC Meeting
The meeting was called to order by the president at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Clubhouse Craft Room. The following officers were present. President Dick Bishop, Vice President Joe White, and Secretary Sam Brandes.
The president welcomed all members.

The current check book balance: $5221.82
The next field trip will a tour of the Yuengling Brewery on Thursday, October 21. It is located at 11111 North 30th St in Tampa. We will meet at 8:45 AM at Beall's lot on SR 674 and Cypress Blvd to check in then proceed on to the tour site. The tour begins at 10:00 AM. Lunch facilities are not available at the brewery. Therefore, we will take a short walk to Stingray's Bar and Grill at 11101 N. 30th Street where we will be able to enjoy lunch and continue this social activity,
Please wear closed toes shoes, NO sandals. There are lots of steps and it is not handicapped accessible.

The radio room monitor program will begin now that our snowbird members are returning. Members are asked to volunteer for one day per week form 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Please sign up with Dick Bishop or Bev Wilson.
Support is needed for the Club Room Work Day on Tuesday afternoon. The project list is on the white board next to the HF station.
Work continues on the HF Go-Kit. Plans call for adding VHF Packet to the kit
The Board has approved the purchase of two (2) IC 2820 Dual Banders that will replace the IC V8000 at the VHF/UHF station. The IC V8000 will replace the Radio Shack radios used for Echolink and APRS station.
Our beam rotator is not working. The controller will be checked out before any tower work is done.
Don Nathan and Tom Cooney presented very interesting and detailed information on constructing QRP radios for little cost. Bread Board radios were displayed.
A new area of ham radio was demonstrated and discussed. The iPod Touch (a mini version of the iPad) can download Skype and Echolink plus many other “apps” for ham radio use.
