MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 14, 2011 MONTHLY KPARC MEETING
The meeting was called to order by the president at 2:00p.m. in the Main Clubhouse Craft Room. The following officers were present. President Dick Bishop, Vice President Sam Brandes, Secretary Monica Miller, and Treasurer Bill Love.
The president welcomed all members and guests.
Minutes of the January 10, 2011 meeting
The minutes of our last meeting are posted on the KPARC webpage. Voted and seconded to dispense with the reading of last month’s minutes.
The current check book balance is $6,770.00
Dues are now due. Ten dollars for an individual and fifteen for a family. See Bill Love for payment.
Roster will updated in March.
Club room monitors
We need volunteers to man the club room on Wednesday morning between 9:00 and 11:00. If you cannot volunteer on this day, we do need alternates also. If you would like to volunteer contact Dick Bishop.
QRP Wednesdays between 7:00a.m. and 8:00 a.m. beginning at a restaurant and going from there. It’s
a great learning experience.
CW X cover kit Several people got together the past 2 Mondays to build these kits. Lots of fun and a
great learning experience too. We will meet again on Thursday afternoon to finish the project.
Field trip for February Lipizzan Stallions in training in Myakka City, FL. We will meet at Beals parking lot
at 1:15 p.m. and leave at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
Spring Picnic is March 12, 2011 at the Sun City Center horseshoe pit at 1200 noon. It is a catered event
with chicken, ribs, beans, potato salad, coleslaw and dessert. Drinks are also provided. Cost is
$8.50 per person. See Virginia Rihm or Rita Hale for tickets. Last day to purchase tickets is
March 8, 2011.
Ladies Day Out is February 20, 2011. We will be going to Little Harbor Restaurant at 11:00 for brunch.
Orlando Hamcation was well attended. A D star dongle with hot spot was picked up for the club along with miscellaneous parts for the kit building.
Club Room News-Work is progressing on cleaning up the room. The echolink by the door is being moved to the weather station area. USB hubs are being installed so no more crawling on the floor. Cat 5 is being moved to the HF corner.
Hats are in. See Bill Love to pay for them.
