MINUTES OF THE May 9, 2011 MONTHLY KPARC MEETING

The meeting was called to order by the president at 2:00p.m. in the Main Clubhouse Craft Room. The following officers were present. President Dick Bishop, Vice President Sam Brandes, Secretary Monica Miller, and Treasurer Bill Love.

The president welcomed all members and guests.

SECRETARY’S REPORT

The minutes of our last meeting are posted on the KPARC webpage. Voted and seconded to dispense with the reading of last month’s minutes.

TREASURERS REPORT

Current checkbook balance is $4,637.94

OLD BUSINESS

Dues are still due if you haven’t paid them. Ten dollars for an individual and 15 for a family.

Roster is being updated at this time. More to follow.

Top Gun show at the Lakeland airport was tremendous. We saw model planes in simulated air fighting and aerial acrobatics in the sky.

PL change for KP repeaters changes to 162.2 HZ on May 15, 2011. Please change all radios. IF you do not know how to do it, come up to the clubroom any time and someone will help you.

NEW BUSINESS

We are talking of getting a mentoring program started for the equipment in the club room so everyone will know how to use them. Anyone interested in volunteering let any one of the club officers know.

Field day this year is June 25 and 26. We will be setting up in the club room so anyone interested in making contacts or how a field day is run come join us in the club room anytime during those 2 days.

Ladies day out is May 12, 2011 at the Riverside Bar and Grill. Hope to see all the ladies there. An amateur radio license is not required to come to these luncheons.

Jean Hall’s 90th birthday is being celebrated May 14th in the Sun Towers dining room from 10:00 to 11:00. Come join in celebrating this momentous event.

PROGRAM was provided by Ed Allen, WA4ISB the NI4CE Trustee who spoke on Circular Polarization (CP) antenna at Riverview site.
