MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 8, 2011 MONTHLY KPARC MEETING
The meeting was called to order by the president at 2:00p.m. in the Main Clubhouse Craft Room. The following officers were present. President Dick Bishop, Vice President Sam Brandes, Secretary Monica Miller, and Treasurer Bill Love.
The president welcomed all members and guests.
Voted and seconded to dispense with the reading of last month’s minutes.
Current checkbook balance is $4,331.83
After much discussion, the club has decided not to add a coffee maker to the club room.
Rearranging the club operating stations is underway. It will better suit the clubs needs with ease of operating for contests, Emcomm, DXing and learning to use various modes.
Obtaining insurance on radio equipment is still in the works.
Developing a plan for a server to network all club computers is underway. This will standardize our software, allowing each member to use their call sign to log in.
FEMA announces Nation Wide emergency alert November 9, 2011.
New organizers are installed over the workbench. Old ones are available to members.
Bill Shepherd repaired a power supply for KP security.
Flex radio relocated to weather station desk. A new G5RV antenna has been installed on the roof.
KPARC lost one Dell PC to an electrical surge protector last month.
The automatic tuner is missing. If anyone knows where it is or if you have borrowed it, please let one of the club officers know.
Dick Bishop showed videos of solar eruptions and ISS ham radio tour.
